Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Pakistan Business Professional Council (PBPC) Abu Dhabi organized the Pakistan Independence Day Virtual Event on the 14th of August 2021.
The virtual event was participated by the current and former Ambassadors of Pakistan to the UAE & Honorary Chairmen of the Council, H.E. Afzaal Mahmood, H.E. Gen. (RTD) Salim Ullah Khan, H.E. Jamil Ahmed Khan, and H.E. Asif Durrani. In addition, Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. Shahid Nadeem, President of Austria-Pakistan Association, and PBPC Abu Dhabi members and friends have joined the event.
The event started with a recitation of passages of the Qur’an followed by the playing of the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan national anthem respectively.
During his welcome remarks, Dr. S. Qaiser Anis, PBPC Abu Dhabi President welcomed and acknowledged the current and former Ambassadors and the Council’s Honorary Members for their presence, as well as the distinguished guests, the Council’s members, and friends across the world.
“I would like to call upon the entire Pakistani community to be united, and work hard in these difficult times. On this important occasion, Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates are thankful to the UAE leaders and government for providing them all the comforts in their brotherly country”, Dr. Qaiser Anis said.
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan congratulated and appreciated the Pakistan Business Professional Council Abu Dhabi for its good works and contribution to the Pakistani community to the economic and social development of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
“I am deeply honored to the historical occasion of Pakistan Independence Day with you tonight, on behalf of your brothers, sisters, and friends in the United Arab Emirates we sent greetings to all the people of your great country. We are confident that the people of Pakistan will continue to great success to pursue their vision of a just, peaceful and prosperous society” H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said.

In his remarks, Ambassador Afzaal Mahmood conveyed his greetings on the occasion of Pakistan Independence Day, which reminds us of the achievements of the elders under the leadership of Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and appreciated the Pakistan Business Professional Council Abu Dhabi for organizing such an event.
Also, the past Ambassadors to the UAE and Honorary Chairmen Gen. (RTD) Salim Ullan Khan, Jamil Ahmed Khan, and Asif Durrani conveyed their felicitations to fellow Pakistanis on the occasion of Independence Day.

Dr. A. The Irish Business Council President Ms. Noeleen Saeed and Engr. Saleh Awad, Board of Director of Palestine Business Council has also joined and extended their greetings on this special occasion.
The event was concluded by a word of thanks from Mr. Mohd. Iqbal Nasim, VP Programme of Pakistan Business Professional Council Abu Dhabi.
More than 45 attendees participated and joined to celebrate with the Council’s virtual event for Pakistan Independence Day. A one-of-a-kind initiative with a wonderful collection of distinguished participants from across the globe.
The PBPC Abu Dhabi will continue to uphold the council’s objectives – using its platform and presence in the region to support its members during the pandemic.
